At AVN, we are convinced that industrial innovation must go hand in hand with respect for people and for the environment. Our CSR commitment is a concrete one, driven by our employees and partners, to build sustainable and responsible solutions together.

We are convinced that every company, whatever its size, has an essential role to play in building a more responsible and sustainable future.

AVN is aware of the environmental issues at stake and has put in place the technical, material and organisational solutions to limit its impact on the environment:

Systematic evacuation of waste from work sites,
No hazardous liquid waste is discharged into the sink,
Compliance with selective sorting of waste: evacuation to waste collection centres or containers suited to sorting.
Waste sorting into the appropriate containers
Waste assimilable to household waste (cups, plastics…)
Non-hazardous industrial waste (DIB) — recoverable. Energy can be recovered from it, or it can be recycled (paper, cardboard, wood, metals…)
Hazardous Waste (HW) such as aerosols, soiled rags, soiled packaging, used oils, etc. is sorted and recycled by a specialist and certified company, CLIKECO, with which we have a contract (clikeco.com)
Recycling of products wherever possible.
Use of raw materials compliant with French and European standards.

RESPONSIBLE INNOVATION — Design serving a better world

Our expertise in Transport & Logistics, Health & Research and Air Handling translates into solutions compliant with health and environmental standards, designed to support our customers in their own sustainability journeys. More than mere words, our commitments are measured and tracked through recognised standards and certifications. We are careful to comply with the most demanding regulations in matters of health, safety and the environment.

Innovation also comes through bold installations. At the start of 2024, we had the audacity to replace our ageing heating system with an innovative, eco-responsible one that recovers the heat produced by the neighbouring sawmill (COFIM) to heat the water of our heating loop.

LOCAL ROOTS & PROXIMITY — Using local strengths to grow together

As a family-owned company based in Vaugneray, we work as a priority with local partners and actively support the economy and community life of our area. Our social responsibility is expressed through concrete partnerships with local players.

COFIM: recovery of the heat from the neighbouring sawmill to heat our premises, an innovative approach to the circular economy.
APIDIA / EDMR: collaboration with local companies to energise the area and support employment.
GEVL / Araire: support to local associations, reflecting our will to contribute to the social and solidarity vibrancy of our region.
Collège de Vaugneray (Notre Dame des Monts): visits by student groups and hosting of interns to introduce them to our activity and our trades.

These ties strengthen our local roots and our commitment to keeping the local economy alive.

OUR ACTIONS & OUR OBJECTIVES

Innovative by nature, AVN has always been a pioneer in every field.

At a time of energy transition, we have equipped ourselves with a solar-panel array of more than 360 m² to benefit from around 72 kW of renewable energy and reduce our electricity consumption.

These panels cover on average 80% of our electricity needs.

Since 2020, AVN has committed to giving priority to plug-in hybrid vehicles. To date, the AVN vehicle fleet includes 6 hybrid vehicles and 1 fully electric utility vehicle. 8 electric charging stations are available to encourage the energy transition.

AVN has engaged in its rating and continuous-improvement journey with the EcoVadis network, obtaining the bronze medal.

Our objective is to continue to progress in all four areas assessed by this certification: Environment, Social and human rights, Ethics and Responsible purchasing.

Since 2022, AVN has partnered with the Clikeco network, specialising in the disposal of hazardous waste in small volumes. Our teams took part in a training session delivered by our partner Clikeco to raise employee awareness of good waste-management practices.

Becoming aware of our impact is a first important step. It allows us to set realistic objectives targeted at the most impactful items. This analysis has highlighted an extremely strong impact of upstream transport (67.57%) and, to a lesser extent, of downstream transport (14.55%). This gives us keys to meet our short-term (−28.30% in 2030) and long-term (−81.10% in 2050) commitments.
